Ask the supplier to demonstrate delayed-result handling and a safe status-check route. A timeout should not automatically be described as a declined payment or a confirmed booking.
Rehearse this before accepting the change
Delay a test-provider notification after the visitor completes the payment step.
Use fictional examples and an authorised test environment. Record what happened, the evidence you inspected and any issue that still needs a responsible owner.
Choose a useful measure
Track unresolved payment states beyond the agreed review window.
Agree the definition and baseline with the team doing the work. Review the result over a comparable period and note other changes that could affect it.
