Keep expanded row details associated with the right item

A table row can reveal an extra panel without making clear which record it belongs to. After sorting or expanding several rows, details may appear attached to the wrong item.

What to change

Ask the supplier to maintain an explicit relationship between each row's expansion control and its revealed details.

A worked example

Illustrative example

Opening details for one enquiry reveals information labelled for that enquiry, while a second expanded row retains its own separate context.

How to check the result

Accept when expanded content never loses its record association and remains reachable after supported changes to the list.

A mistake to avoid

Placing all expanded details in one detached panel may require a stronger item label because visual proximity no longer supplies context.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
