Care home enquiries: maintain availability information

Illustrative situation

A care home page displays availability that was entered weeks ago. The marketing team has no reliable way to know whether the statement remains accurate.

The decision

Publish only availability information with a maintained source and owner. When live availability cannot be supported, explain how a family can obtain current information.

Rehearse this before accepting the change

Withhold a scheduled update in a test workflow and verify the public wording changes or is reviewed according to the agreed stale-data rule.

Use fictional examples and an authorised test environment. Record what happened, the evidence you inspected and any issue that still needs a responsible owner.

Choose a useful measure

Measure the age of published availability information and the number of overdue updates.

Agree the definition and baseline with the team doing the work. Review the result over a comparable period and note other changes that could affect it.

Your planning worksheet

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
