Select a case whose scope, work and outcome can be supported. A clear account of a verified implementation is preferable to an unsupported performance claim.
Rehearse this before accepting the change
Ask a reviewer unfamiliar with the project to trace every numerical or comparative claim to its evidence record.
Use fictional examples and an authorised test environment. Record what happened, the evidence you inspected and any issue that still needs a responsible owner.
Choose a useful measure
Track claims revised or removed because supporting evidence was insufficient.
Agree the definition and baseline with the team doing the work. Review the result over a comparable period and note other changes that could affect it.
