What to change
Agree where conditional questions appear, how their appearance is made understandable, and which answers are retained if the visitor changes the triggering choice.
A worked example
Illustrative example
Selecting Telephone reveals a number field directly after the preference choice. Selecting Email removes the telephone requirement and makes the email question the relevant next step.
How to check the result
Accept when revealed questions are discoverable, their requirements match the current choice, and hidden information cannot silently change the submitted request.
A mistake to avoid
An animation can draw visual attention but does not by itself communicate the new question to assistive technology.
Your action checklist
Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
