Keep section links accurate while content loads later

A section link may initially land correctly, then late-loaded content above it pushes the intended heading away. Visitors arrive at the wrong-looking section despite following a valid link.

What to change

Ask the supplier to preserve useful arrival positions when images, embeds or deferred content appear around linked sections.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A visitor follows a link to Contact options and stays at that heading even when the branch image farther up the page finishes loading.

How to check the result

Accept when linked section arrivals remain stable through delayed content and do not require the visitor to rediscover the destination.

A mistake to avoid

An initial successful jump does not establish that the final loaded page leaves the reader in the same useful place.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
