Explain when an enquiry cannot be sent offline

A visitor can lose connectivity while completing a form. Pressing Send may then produce a spinner with no indication that the request has not reached the service.

What to change

Ask for a clear, accurate response when submission cannot begin or complete because the device is offline.

A worked example

Illustrative example

An offline visitor is told the enquiry has not been sent and can retain the visible draft while reconnecting before trying again.

How to check the result

Accept when the visitor understands the submission state and can recover without losing valid work or being misled by a success-looking message.

A mistake to avoid

The browser's connectivity indicator alone does not prove whether a particular request reached its destination before the connection was lost.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
