Healthcare copywriting briefs: request usable evidence

Illustrative situation

A draft promises exceptional results because no approved evidence pack was supplied. The team has process documents but no substantiated outcome figures.

The decision

Build the brief around evidence that actually exists. Describe verified processes clearly and leave unsupported comparative or numerical claims out of the approved copy.

Rehearse this before accepting the change

Select the strongest sentence in the draft and trace it to its supporting record. Rewrite or remove it if the evidence does not support the wording.

Use fictional examples and an authorised test environment. Record what happened, the evidence you inspected and any issue that still needs a responsible owner.

Choose a useful measure

Measure the number of unsupported claims discovered before final approval.

Agree the definition and baseline with the team doing the work. Review the result over a comparable period and note other changes that could affect it.

Your planning worksheet

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
