Give repeated card links distinct accessible names

A collection of cards may end with identical Read more links. In a screen reader's links list, visitors cannot distinguish which service or resource each one opens.

What to change

Ask for each link's accessible name to identify its destination while remaining consistent with the visible card wording.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A resource card's link is announced as Read more about keyboard navigation, while its visible action remains concise and its heading supplies context.

How to check the result

Accept when users can choose the intended card from a list of links and nested actions do not create duplicate or conflicting destinations.

A mistake to avoid

Adding hidden words that do not match the visible title can confuse people using both speech commands and screen magnification.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
