Explain a document available in more than one language

Several translated downloads have similar filenames, and patients cannot tell which language or service version each contains. A language label alone does not identify the document's purpose.

What to change

Label each download with both its task and language, and ensure the document identifies itself internally. Confirm the translation's scope with the responsible reviewer.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A practice lists its arrival guide in two named languages with the same branch description. Each document includes the relevant contact route, so a printed copy still makes sense independently.

How to check the result

Someone can select the correct language version without opening several files or relying on an opaque filename.

A mistake to avoid

Do not assume a translated general brochure is a substitute for translated appointment-specific instructions.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
