Explain why a booking link opens the wrong branch

A profile or service page sends visitors to a general provider account with several branches. The first branch shown may not be the one described on the original page.

What to change

Make the required branch choice explicit where a direct destination is unavailable. Check the wording against the public booking journey rather than assuming the provider remembers context.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A practitioner profile describes appointments at Riverside, but its provider link opens all locations. The invitation tells visitors to select Riverside and the confirmation guidance asks them to check the address.

How to check the result

A visitor can carry the intended location through the handoff and recognise an incorrect result.

A mistake to avoid

Do not describe a link as book at Riverside if it silently defaults to another branch without explanatory content.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
