Keep dense footer links individually selectable

A footer can contain useful contact and policy routes but pack them into tightly spaced text. Small screens make accidental activation of a neighbouring link common.

What to change

Ask the supplier to retain readable separation and distinct interactive targets when footer columns collapse into a mobile layout.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A visitor can select Accessibility between Privacy and Contact without zooming in or repeatedly opening the wrong page.

How to check the result

Accept when each footer destination is independently identifiable and operable across compact layouts, including long translated or wrapped labels.

A mistake to avoid

Simply adding more visual whitespace does not guarantee the actual clickable areas stop overlapping one another.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
