Describe a practitioner who has stopped accepting new patients

A profile remains relevant for existing patients, but its book now invitation attracts new enquiries the practitioner cannot accept. Removing the whole profile would also remove useful information for current patients.

What to change

Explain the current administrative boundary and provide separate next steps for new and existing patients. Verify the wording with the practitioner and booking team.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A profile explains that existing patients can contact reception about review appointments, while new enquiries should ask the team about other available options. The biography remains factual and useful.

How to check the result

Both audiences can understand the current arrangement without assuming the practitioner has left the practice.

A mistake to avoid

Do not leave an unrestricted booking invitation beside a small note that says no new patients.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
