Explain when a profile is informational rather than bookable

A team directory includes people who support the practice but do not take patient appointments. Identical profile buttons make visitors expect that everyone can be booked.

What to change

Use the profile to explain the person's actual role and the relevant contact route. Reserve appointment invitations for people and services that genuinely accept those bookings.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A practice manager profile explains responsibility for practice administration and points general questions to reception. It does not present the manager as an appointment provider simply because other profiles use that layout.

How to check the result

The page gives useful context without creating a booking expectation the practice cannot fulfil.

A mistake to avoid

Do not describe every team member as a clinician or specialist when their verified role is administrative or supportive.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
