Explain arrival when nearby roadworks change the approach

The practice remains open but the usual street entrance or driving approach is temporarily disrupted. A generic roadworks notice does not explain what a patient should do differently.

What to change

Publish only verified practical changes and identify which routes or entrances are affected. Keep the normal address intact while explaining the current approach clearly.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A clinic explains that the entrance remains open to pedestrians while vehicle access uses another public approach. Patients are told where to check the current travel information before leaving.

How to check the result

A visitor can distinguish a travel disruption from closure of the practice or cancellation of their appointment.

A mistake to avoid

Do not infer that a booked appointment has moved simply because the surrounding road arrangement has changed.

Your action checklist

Use these checks to prepare a discussion with your team or supplier. Tick a check when you have recorded the decision or evidence, rather than when a feature has simply been promised.
